Amethyst
It is a simple crescent shaped shawl, suitable for a beginner who wants to try his/her hand at shawl knitting. Many like this shape because you can easily twine the shawl around your neck several times, as it has long ends.
The shawl features alternation of mohair and merino sections. You can change the rhythm and make alternations closer or further apart.
The mohair is not in the data base, so here is the yarn information:
(1) Brushed Extra Fine Kid Mohair (Adele’s Mohair), 79% mohair, 21% acrylic 25 g/210 m - 2 balls (shown in colour Amethyst)
(2) Skinny Wool (Adele’s Mohair), 100% merino, 25 g/165 m – 2 balls (shown in colour Amethyst).
You will need at least 2 balls of each yarn.
The height of my shawl is about 42 cm and it is really wide!
I recommend using circular needles. You may need several pairs of them towards the end in order to accommodate quite a large number of stitches.
The gauge is not critical, choose needles to obtain the fabric you like. However, it may affect the size of the shawl and the amount of yarn you need
