This is a filet crochet piece that is worked using size 30 threads, two strands at a time, to create the primitive coloring in this runner. For the burgundy or navy/ecru sections a strand of each color is worked together until the stars. The stars are worked by dropping the ecru to the back then after the star, picking up the ecru and using two strands again. The loop of ecru that is left from working the star is then snipped off and the ends woven in. They could also be carried along but the ecru would tend to show thru the solid coloring if it is worked like that. The first few rows of the pattern are written out then it is worked following a chart. It is a fun pattern to make.
