This is my first attempt at an Assigned Pooling design. In my research of this interesting technique I identified a few “problem areas” which I tried to avoid in this design. By working in the round I was able to eliminate dealing with edge stitches and wrong side rows.

Interested in making this design but not sure what yarn to use? Yanihandmade has created kits in her Etsy shop! You can find them here.

This design begins with a stretchy K2P3 slip stitch rib and quickly grows to a fun, flowing poncho using mostly stockinette stitch interspersed with an interesting lace and nupp stitch. These stitches occur randomly as the poncho grows and creates a truly unique work of art! Because it is knit seamlessly in the round, you can select your favorite nupp configuration for the front.

The bottom leaf border creates a flirty ruffle without being overwhelming and it is finished with a bobble bind off.

The lightweight yarn and random, small lace sections create an airy layer perfect for spring (or fall) when you want just a little covering. It is designed to end at the elbows on a person of average height but can easily be lengthened or shortened to suit your personal sense of style.
