Amatini
Amatini is a sturdy little shawl with shoulder shaping and pictorial lace flowing down it. It’s warm and stays on your shoulders without any fuss. Ideal for an introduction to charted lace, the pattern is fully written and charted; each chart notes which written lines correlate to it, each page of charts has a legend to cut down on flipping back and forth, and stitch count tables are provided.
Many thanks to the gracious and talented Sivia Harding; the idea for Amatini came into light in her class in Olds, AB last summer. The original shawl was scaled for a sturdy little girl and worked in dazzling variegated worsted. ‘Amatini’ has been rescaled, but is still named in honor of my oldest daughter.
Thanks as well to the Gilli-Hook Heritage Knitters Guild. I recieved a scholarship for them that helped to pay for my class, and in return, I’m gifting the members with a copy of the pattern.
