Amani the giraffe girl has a very amicable nature – maybe because in Suaheli, the language of East Africa, her name translates to „freedom“? All the animals of the savannah love her. She is always ready to help and has the gift of settling disputes that may occur, namely when hothead Marvin the Rhino wants to go headfront through any given wall. But her best friend is Nelson the Lion – a really odd friendship!

More information:
Choose any yarn you like or have left over – Amani will be bigger or smaller depending on the yarn. Sock yarn will be fine, but I prefer the softer merino yarn. If you knit Amani for a child, make sure the yarn is robust, washable and doesn’t pill too much. With the gauge
27 stitches x 38 rows = 10 x 10 cm = 4 x 4 inches Amani measures approximateley 50 cm = 20 inches from horns to hoofs.

Amani is knitted in the round!

The pattern will lead you step-by-step through the knitting, sewing and embroidering, including loads of detail photos and charts. Additionally, you’ll find instructions for the more elaborate techniques used like three-needle bind-off and alike.
As the pattern is around in German language for quite a while, I realized that even beginners tried themselves on Amani and succeeded knitting him, but truth be told, you have more fun with Amani if you are used to knit in the round with double pointed needles.

Sie können natürlich jede beliebige Wolle verwenden
(z. B. Strumpfgarn). Je nach Wollstärke wird Amani größer oder kleiner. Mit der Maschenprobe 27 Maschen x 38 Reihen auf 10 x 10 Zentimeter misst Amani von den Hörnern bis zu den Hufen ca. 50 cm.
