Amalie 2
Amalie 2 is an open-front, cocoon style, cardigan worked from the bottom up. The construction is unusual: we start knitting the first rows back and forth. After finishing the vertical rib edge, we cast on stitches for the base of a 2 x 2 rib triangle; then we join the work to knit in the round. As we are shaping the triangle, the work is creating a triangular depression on the fabric, near the working needles. When this part is finished, we create a triangular piece, with a few short rows. As shown on images 1 and 2. After this step, we place the sleeve stitches onto a holder. The seam, as in image 3, is madeusingthe3-needle bind off method.Linkfor3- Needle Bind Off method for Amalie and Amalie 2: https://youtu.be/_XdMmVekZpY
The sleeves are worked in the round, from the sleeve stitches previously placed on a holder.
