Alpaca Family Amigurumi
Alpaca are beautiful creatures with very endearing faces, and they produce lovely soft yarn. This pattern has all the details to make two sizes of alpaca - a cute baby (or cria) and an adult.
The pattern is written using US crochet terms, and the list of abbreviations includes the UK alternatives.
You will need:
Yarn A: main colour, use approx 70g double knitting (DK) weight yarn* for adult alpaca, approx 50g for baby alpaca.
Yarn B: secondary colour for face and ears, use approx 10g DK weight yarn for either size alpaca.
Small amount of black yarn to sew features.
Stuffing.
1 pair 10.5 mm black safety eyes for each alpaca.
Tapestry needle.
3.5mm hook (US E hook).
Finished size: Adult approximately 21 cm (8.5”) tall, baby approximately 17 cm (7”) tall.
Available on LoveCrafts here.
Worsted weight yarn is a little thicker than DK but can easily be substituted and the pattern will still be in proportion, though you may need to use a little more and go up a hook size.
