For those who know me, you know I was a late convert to the love of Doctor Who, but once I started watching, I was hooked. While Nine will always be my Doctor, Ten runs a pretty close second. Who am I kidding? I adore Ten (but Nine is still my first love). Ten’s catchphrase during his time as the Doctor was “Allons-y!”, which, quite honestly, if you heard it coming from David Tennant, wouldn’t you do whatever was asked?

The idea of “let’s go!” immediately made me think of movement, like the TARDIS moving through time and space, so I went on a search for a stitch pattern that immediately made me think of movement and I came along a variation of the Four Winds stitch pattern which fit the bill.

Allons-y! is knit in three different sizes, from the toe-up, using fingering weight yarn, with a gusset heel, and twisted rib to give it a great finished look and keep those socks from sagging!

Allons-y! can be knit out of one skein of sock yarn, it’s great for a tonal variegated, solid or even lightly variegated yarn (but will always look lovely in TARDIS blue).
