The Allegany shawl is a patterned, rectangular shawl knit with Magpie Fibers Swanky DK weight yarn. The merino and cashmere blend create a shawl that is silky soft in the most radiant colors. Magpie Fibers is based out of Frederick, Maryland, near the Appalachian Mountain range or “Allegany”, their French name. All yarns are hand-dyed by Dami Hunter and Tracey Lambert in their small studio. With a focus on luxurious fibers, your fingers will be left itching for more!

Allegany is knit in one piece, flat with a border added by picking up stitches. Allegany can be more than a shawl. Because of it’s size and shape, you can make Allegany as a throw blanket, as a baby gift, to take on travels and picnics, to keep in your car for emergencies and more! Outline sketches are provided with the pattern for you to color in and try out different color combinations for your knit!

2 skeins Fior de Latte (MC)

Materials:
US 4 - 3.5mm 32” circular needle (or longer)
US 5 - 3.75mm (optional for binding off)
Tapestry Needle (for weaving in ends)
Stitch Markers

Gauge:
18sts x 24 rows = 4”-10cm using US 4– 3.5mm needle in colorwork chart, blocked.
