All you knit is love…do you agree? If so, this sweater is the perfect way to express that sentiment! This design incorporates everything you love about knitting, from colorwork, to cables, and even lace! With the featured phrase in bold block letters on the back in a rainbow gradation of colors, this sweater makes quite the statement while having a soft, pretty, feminine look. The front features mini intarsia hearts with crossing cables to give an argyle look, while this “heart-gyle” motif is also incorporated on the sleeve as an elbow patch in a small and sweet gradation of colors. Lastly, the sweater features a fun mesh lace shoulder insert to make this design truly unique.

All pieces of this design are knit flat and then seamed together at the end. The back and sleeve colorwork charts are knit stranded, while the front mini hearts are knit by intarsia - each heart uses only 20” of yarn so there won’t be any tangling!

Color transitions in the All You Knit is Love Chart and Sleeve Heart Chart are worked by separating plies of two colors and twisting plies of each color together again to create the transition color. Another option is to use fingering weight yarn and hold it double for the solid portions, and held together with the transition color for the blended sections. You could also try using a DK yarn with a color gradation to get this effect, or simply knit stripes!

This sweater was originally designed for The Fiber Factor Knitting Design Contest Challenge #2, “Color Inside the Box”. You can read more about the inspiration behind this design in a blog post I did about it here :)

Enjoy!
