All Terrain
Mr March rides hard and takes no prisoners. He is relentless with his powerful machine, always in hot pursuit of those that deserve his attention. It’s a lonely life in the rugged badlands, but at least he has comfy hands in a masculine pair of fingerless gloves with a bold stitch pattern and firm gauge.
This rugged glove plays with the effects that can be achieved by alternating horizontal stockinette and vertical brioche stripes. Brioche works up wider and shorter than stockinette, creating an interesting rumpled pattern which also adds warmth.
The gloves are designed with men in mind, but women’s sizes are also included. The pattern is written for partial-fingered gloves, and includes brief instructions for full-fingered and fingerless gloves.
All Terrain Gloves are worked in the round, from the cuff. They are worked at a tight gauge for warmth, and to accommodate the colorwork pattern.
The pattern provides instructions for working the colorwork design using either the knit-one-below or the brioche-knit technique. If brioche is not your cup of tea, you can certainly do stranded knitting (fair isle) or use slipped stitches instead, though the texture won’t be the same.
