Alkonost Swing Vest is a flattering vertically knit piece of wearable art. Short row sections create the swing. Incorporating various ribbons, hand spun art yarn, hand tied art yarn (you can make your own) or knitting in locks provides unique texture. Check your stash for appropriate additions of ribbons, mohair, & other left over stash yarns that can be used alone or in combinations to meet gauge.
Suggestions for specified yarns are included. For example, a good substitute for the Alkonost is Brown Sheep’s Lamb’s Pride bulky.
Size options as well as length options are clearly explained. This is the opportunity to use that gorgeous skein of handspun that you picked up at a festival. Or you can make your own hand tied using bits of stash yarn that are leftover jewels from other projects.
