NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4)

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; up to 50g in each colour

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, and beads for the alien’s eyes.

SIZES
One size only - The alien is 25cm tall and the rocket ship 17cm tall.

TECHNIQUES
Most pieces are worked flat (back and forth) on a pair of straight single pointed knitting needles, not in the round. The DPNs are used to knit i-cord for the arms, legs and antennae. For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
