Pattern description from Knitting Little Luxuries: “This simple sleeveless tunic is crossed with a bold braided cable that travels from hip to shoulder on front and back. I created this design to play with increasing and decreasing stitches, which make the cable panels for the front and back travel in opposite diagonal directions. Worked in luxurious yarn with a hint of shimmer, the unfussy shape creates a stylish silhouette.”
Finished Size: 33.5 (38, 42.5, 47)“ (85 96.5, 108, 119.5 cm) bust circumference
Yarn: DK weight (#3 Light).
Louisa Harding Grace (50% merino wool, 50% silk; 110 yd 101 m/50 g): #3 dove (gray), 9 (10, 11, 12) balls.
Needles: U.S. sizes 6 (4 mm) and 7 (4.5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Cable needle (cn); markers (m); removable markers; tapestry needle.
Notes:
- On the back, the “move cable” row shifts the cable chart to the right by decreasing a stitch before the chart and increasing a stitch after the chart. On the front, the cable chart is shifted to the left by increasing a stitch before the chart and decreasing a stitch after the chart.
- The “move cable” row also creates a purl ridge in the stockinette stitch section of the fabric.
