This toy is worked flat in pieces and seamed. The stitches are all simple but take your time with sewing up carefully for a neat finish.
Yarn used
Small amount of 4-ply (fingering) yarn in
• A sky blue
• B white
• C red
• D yellow
• E yellow green
• F peach
• G dark brown
About the yarn
50g per 184m, 100% polyester
Tension
27 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10cm over St st (not essential)
Needles used
3.5 mm straight
Other supplies
• A chenille or tapestry needle
• Black cotton thread to sew beads
• All-purpose sewing needle
• 17 x 5cm card
• Toy stuffing
• Two pairs of 5mm black beads
• Scissors
Practical tips
• Leave long ends at the beginning and end for sewing.
• Sew seam with RS facing, using mattress stitch.
• If you do not wish to use beads, embroider eyes with black yarn.
