Pattern description from Folk Style: “A visit to a gallery in Ottawa, Canada, and a painting by noted Canadian artist Tom Tompson offered Gayle Bunn the colorway for these socks. The landscape was of autumn in northern Ontario. ‘I really loved the mix of the golds, bright green, and reds of the foliage with the indigo and purple shades of the water,’ says Gayle. The individual motifs are interpreted from traditional Scandinavian folk knitting. With the mix of Canadian autumn shades and Scandinavian motifs, Gayle creates an enchanting combination of two northern nations.”
