É um xaile grande, envolvente mas muito leve e pensado para nos aconchegar nas noites de verão. É tricotado no fio do mesmo nome, “Alfama” da Rosários4, de 100% linho, perfeito para os dias quentes que se aproximam. Os pontos utilizados no corpo do xaile são simples mas permitem uma harmoniosa transição de cores. A barra rendada é o grande ex-líbris deste xaile, inspirada nas tradicionais “rendas por música” e com uma cor forte que faz sobressair ainda mais o seu desenho. A barra é tricotada no sentido perpendicular ao corpo do xaile, tal como as tradicionais “rendas por musica”, mas sem necessidade de costuras.

Como se trata de um xaile o valor da amostra não é determinante. O mais importante é que experimente e goste da textura final. Neste fio de linho é mesmo importante que lave a amostra para ver o resultado final…vai ver como muda para melhor!

This a big shawl, wrapping style but really lightweight perfect to comfort summer nights. Is knitted in the yarn with the same name, in 100% linen, perfect for the upcoming summer knitting. The stitches used are simple but keep the colors flowing smoothly. The lace border is the ex-libris of the shawl. Is inspired by the Portuguese tradicional “rendas por música” (similar to the english Victorian lace borders) and in a strong color to enhance it even more. This border is knitted sideways, just like in tradicional pieces, but with no sewing needed.

Since it’s a shawl gauge it’s not so important, but it will affect the size of the finished garment. What’s really important is that you test the needles and wash the sample. Since it’s a 100% linen yarn, washing really affects the final texture…but fear not because it’s for much better!
