ERRATA

1) The 6th size (48½“) should have one extra set of armhole decreases for the back piece so the total sts after all armhole decreases is the 87 sts indicated. This is on page 3, 5th sentence of the 2nd paragraph. That sentence should read for that size “Rep dec row every RS row 8 times more - 87 sts”. Before it had said “Rep dec row every RS row 7 times more - 87 sts.”

2) For the neckband… In the last paragraph on page 4, the 4th sentence should end with … “p to last 14 sts, pm, work next 10 sts in Dot st, p1, k1, sl1 purlwise, k1 - 178 sts”. Before it had said “p to last 15 sts”….

NOTE ABOUT I-CORD EDGING: On the WS (for one edge), you sl the purl st as if to purl with the yarn in front, k1, and sl the purl st as if to purl with the yarn in front. On the RS, you knit normally, sl the purl st as if to purl with the yarn in front, and then knit normally.

You have to give the edge a good tug to make sure the middle purl stitch disappears right up, snuggled between the two stockinette stitches (that are slipped on the WS).

Stats/Specifications:
Finished Size: 32½ (34¾, 38, 41¼, 44½, 48½, 52½)” bust circumference. Sample measures 34¾”.
Yarn: Fleece Artist Woolie Silk (65% wool, 35% silk) 100 grams/251 yards (230 meters) – 4 (4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins
Needles: Body and sleeves – US size 6 circular needles. US size 5 needles for hem. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; stitch holders.
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4” in Stockinette. 21 sts and 30 rows = 4” in Dot stitch.

Notes: 1) Worked flat in one piece to the armholes. Back and fronts are then worked separately. Shoulders are seamed. 2) Sleeves are picked up around the armhole and short rows are then worked to shape sleeve cap. Sleeve is then worked in the round to the cuffs.

A kit for the cardigan in many lovely colors is available at One Planet Yarn and Fiber.
