Aki
Let’s face it: bonnets on babies and children are always adorable. AKI is the ideal bonnet to grab for your babe as the weather turns cool; the generous stretch provided by the textured rib and the sweet, tasselled drawstring provide a snug fit as well as an interesting point of difference to what is a classic bonnet style. This piece is also the perfect canvas for that precious half-skein of yarn we all have languishing in our yarn stashes.
AKI is worked flat, then joined at the back using the three-needle bind off technique. German short rows are used to shape the nape and accentuate the pointed crown. Chin ties are made using crochet chain stitch and threaded through the neckline to form a drawstring.
