Ailsa Craig Mittens
WORKING IN three tweedy shades of blue, teal and yellow, Mary Henderson has created pretty, traditional Fair Isle patterning for her winter accessories set. It comprises a cosy cowl, a hat, and a pair of mittens. Mary has knitted her set using a beautiful worsted-weight alpaca yarn from The Border Mill in Scotland. Yarn quantities given (one skein of each colorway) will make all 3 projects.
SIZE
Circumference: 22cm (8.5 inches)
Length: 29cm(11 inches)
Mittens are worked in the round from the ribbed cuff with an afterthought thumb.
YARN
The Border Mill Alpaca Tweed (Heavy DK/ worsted weight; 100% alpaca; 190m/208yds per 100g skein)
A Mallard; 1 x 100g skein
B Peacock; 1 x 100g skein
C Golden Pear; 1 x 100g skein
