’Afterthought’ is a basic pattern for a sock with an
’afterthought’ heel, designed for the Wol met Verve
Summer of Socks 2022. The sock is knitted from the top
down and the heel is only worked when the rest of the
sock is already finished. This makes knitting and designing, for example, Fair Isle socks much easier.
