Aelix is a baby blanket designed to replicate a traditional Shetland Hap Shawl but knit seamlessly in one piece in a machine washable DK weight extrafine merino yarn. The finished blanket measures approximately 32 inches square, just the right size for a stroller or car seat. The pattern calls for 3 skeins of the main color and 1.3 skeins of the contrast. It can also be knit using a Squash! gradient set plus 2 coordinate skeins. The pattern is currently only available as part of a kit that includes the yarn, pattern, a made with love woven label and a hand crafted enclosure card that includes washing instructions for the recipient. The final picture shows a blanket drying after machine washing, no further blocking is necessary. Plans are in the works to make the pattern available separately both in print and on Ravelry.
