SIZES: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) covers a range of chest measurements from 78 to 138cm (fair measurements).
If your chest measurement is larger, don’t hesitate to get in touch with me and I will scale up the size to the measurement you need.
The sample shown is size 2 for an 88cm chest.

FINAL ITEM MEASUREMENTS at the chest in cm for each size (with positive ease included):
92 (102, 112, 122) (132, 142, 152) cm, to be worn with positive ease of between 14 and 20cm approx.

YARN:

A worsted weight yarn of 100g / 240m approx.

These quantities are approximate. The total amount of yarn used will also depend on the type of fibre, your gauge, and any modifications you make to the pattern. For example, if you want your cardigan to be longer, you will need more yarn than that stated, both for the body and for the sleeves.

The sample shown, size 2 (88cm at the chest and 1.56m long) with positive ease of around 14cm, used 370g of Dehesa de Barrera (100g/240m; 100% Spanish merino wool) from WOOLDREAMERS colour 1246.

GAUGE

17 stitches x 24 rows gives 10 x 10cm in stockinette stitch
before and after blocking.
18 stitches x 26 rows gives 10 x 10cm in pattern before and
after blocking.

It’s a good idea to note down your gauge measurements
before blocking so that you can estimate the difference in
measurements before and after blocking.

NEEDLES

• 5mm circular needles with a cable of 80cm, or size needed to get gauge.
• 4.5mm circular needles with a cable of 100cm, or half a size smaller than the needles used to get gauge.
• 5mm needles for working the sleeves, either on a short cable, a large cable for ‘magic loop’ or DPNs.

OTHER MATERIALS

• 6 stitch markers.
• Long cable with a connector for trying on the item as you go.
• Extra cable or waste yarn to put the sleeve stitches on hold.
• Zip, buttons, or nothing … depending on how you want to
close your cardigan.
• Tape measure, tapestry needles, and scissors.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES

ADRIANA is worked top-down in a single seamless piece
using the following steps:
1.- Cast on the stitches for the neckline.
2.- Work short rows to give height to the back of the neck.
3.- Shape the yoke with raglan increases in stockinette stitch.
4.- Separate body and sleeves to continue working both in the round and change the texture of the fabric.

Estas cantidades son aproximadas. El metraje total de hilo empleado va a depender también del tipo de fibra, tensión o de las modificaciones que hagamos a la prenda.

Por ejemplo si lo queremos más largo, vamos a necesitar más lana tanto para el cuerpo como para las mangas.

En la muestra de la fotografía para la talla 2 (contorno de pecho 88 cm y altura de 1.56 m) con una holgura de unos 14 cm hemos usado 370 g de Dehesa de Barrera (100G/240m; 100% lana merina española) de WOOLDREAMERS color 1246.

TENSIÓN:

17 puntos y 24 pasadas son 10 por 10 cm a punto liso antes y después del bloqueo.

18 puntos y 26 pasadas son 10 por 10 cm a punto fantasía antes y después del bloqueo.

Es aconsejable anotar las medidas de la muestra antes del bloqueo, de esa forma podremos estimar la diferencia de las medidas de la prenda antes y después del mismo.

AGUJAS:

• Circulares de 5 mm con cable de 80 cm, o grosor adecuado para obtener las medidas de la muestra.
• Circulares de 4.5 mm con cable de 100 cm, o medio punto menor que las que vayamos a usar para tejer la prenda.
• Agujas de 5 mm adecuadas para tejer las mangas en circular, ya sean agujas con cable corto, largo para tejer con Magic Loop o juego de 5 agujas.

OTROS MATERIALES:

• 6 marcadores.
• Cable largo con conector para ir probándonos la prenda.
• Cable adicional o lana de deshecho para dejar en espera los puntos de las mangas.
• Cremallera abierta, botones, nada … dependiendo de lo que quieras poner en el cierre.
• Cinta métrica, aguja lanera y tijeras.

NOTAS SOBRE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN

ADRIANA se teje de arriba hacia abajo de una sola pieza sin
costuras siguiendo los siguientes pasos:
1.- Montamos los puntos del escote.
2.- Tejemos pasadas acortadas para hacer la subida del
escote trasero.
3.- Seguimos formando el canesú con aumentos en las líneas
de raglán a punto liso.
4.- Separamos cuerpo y mangas para seguir tejiéndolos por
separado en circular, y cambiando de textura en el tejido.
