An asymmetrical crescent shaped shawl.

Knit from side to side, this shawl is worked in garter stitch with stockinette stitch wedges. You only need to know how to knit, purl, YO and increase. How to do short rows used for shaping can be learned during this project.
Included in the pattern are photos, a complete list of abbreviations, a stitch glossary and schematic.

The story behind the design.
My son was on a snowboard trip in NY state. There happened to be a yarn shop across the street from where he was staying, Adirondack Yarns. He decided he must go into this yarn shop and buy some souvenir yarn for his mother. He asked the yarn shop owner for something very special that his mom might not be able to find in just any shop and they decided on Madelinetosh, Tosh Vintage. He picked out the color way Cove which was absolutely the perfect color for me, a subtle combination of grayed blues and greens. I knew I had to design something special that would make the most of the amount of yarn and show off the yarn. I think I have succeeded in my goals.

I have had several requests for sock yarn adaptations so there is now an added page with additional rows to insert into the pattern if you are using sock yarn.
The last 3 photos show the sock yarn version. If you look closely at the first one you can see 3 sets of markers indicating the section that is added to the sock yarn weight version. The last photo shows the comparison of the worsted weight version (on top) to the sock weight version. I was a little surprised at how close they are.
