Acorn mitts
I’m always knitting gloves and hand-warmers as I have very bad circulation and feel the cold so easily! In this pair I blended my love of colourwork with stranded design inspired by the squirrels collecting acorns falling from the live oak I planted in my mother’s garden as a child. Knitted in a luscious, warm alpaca yarn, these are perfect for those late Autumn days when there is a definite nip in the air.
Yarn required: half a ball of each shade so if you buy a ball of each you can make 2 pairs
Notions: waste yarn, 2 stitch markers, 2.5mm dpns
These mitts can easily be knitted to have full fingers for extra warmth if you wish. Simple knit each until each finger is nealy at your fingertips, then work dec rnds until 5 or 6sts remain.
