(This listing is for those who wish to have an advertisement free pattern or printable copy).

Inspired by Abstract designs and galaxies….the Abstract Sunburst Blanket uses my favourite square (the sunburst granny square) to make a spattering throughout the centre of the blanket with solid granny squares as the background. You can have a lot of fun with this one—using just two colours the combinations are endless!

I use Hue Loco Yarn in her in-stock semisolid colour way “Vineyard” and her Speckled colour way “Marshmallow”. It’s a 100% SW Merino, (230yds/100g)-- (but any DK weight yarn will work) and a 4.5mm hook.
Pattern includes all colours used and the yarn quantities as well as exact positioning. My gift to you is taking the work out of colourwork!
Hue Loco has also put together a blanket kit if you’d like these exact colours--all links to the kits and yarn will be provided in the pattern (as well as some alternative suggestions!)

The final blanket size was: Approximately 47 x 55 inches.

Pattern will include:

  • yarn amounts/quantities.
  • yarn colours.
  • stitch glossary.
  • printable pdf of blanket graph.
  • full colour chart of all squares and their positioning so you can make this EXACT colour copy!
  • full written instruction for the granny squares used (classic sunburst and solid granny square).
  • written tutorial for border.
  • video tutorials for the granny squares as well as the slip stitch method of assembling the squares.

Happy Crocheting Everyone!
