Abie's Lace Shawl
Also known as Shawl You’ll Ever Need.
This lovely lacy shawl is knit left to right using a relaxing, easy-to-memorize lace stitch pattern. As you knit, you will increase from the cast on end until you reach the body of the shawl. One end of the piece includes a pouch-like shape designed to fit around one shoulder to aid in easy wear. See our photo tutorial below for tips on how to style this project!
Skill Level: Intermediate
Notions: Markers; tapestry needle
Yarn: Dream in Color Jilly (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 440 yards 402 meters/113 grams): pictured in Rosy, 2 skeins
This pattern is worked flat, increasing from cast-on end to body of shawl. Short rows are used to form shoulder “pouch” to help ease of wear.
This pattern uses a modified version of Barbara Walker’s Fir Cone Lace Stitch. The original stitch can be found in Walker’s first Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
