Abenteuer Sweater
ABENTEUER is the German word for adventure. I chose this name for this sweater because I knit the first sample during a roadtrip through Germany that I did with a dear friend and which I still hold in very good memory. Only later I realised that knitting this sweater itself also was a wonderful experience and a little adventure as well.
ABENTEUER is worked seamlessly from the top down: You cast on stitches for the neckband and shape the neckline with short rows. After the yoke is finished you divide your stitches and work the body and the sleeves separately in the round. The pattern includes instructions with and without waist shaping for you to choose.
For me ABENTEUER became one of my all time favorite sweaters, since it is very wearable and fun at the same time. The colorwork yoke makes it unique without being too much to wear in daily live. You do not have to stress about finding an outfit to match this sweater. You can just wear it with a pair of jeans to create an effortless yet elegant outfit that will surely stand out.
I hope this project will be a wonderful adventure for you too! Happy knitting!
This pattern went through tech editing and test knitting. I was not able to find testers for the sizes XS, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL though. If you are interested in testing one of these sizes, please send me a message.
CHOOSING A SIZE
ABENTEUER is intended to be worn with 2-3cm / 0.75-1.25” of positive ease around the bust. This means that the garment is supposed to be 2-3cm / 0.75-1.25” larger than your
bust circumference.
Example: Your bust circumference is 95cm / 37.5”. Then you should choose size M.
Pictured is a size M on a 95cm / 37.5” bust with 3cm / 1.25” of positive ease around the bust.
