The rounded, regular holes in the pattern of this cowl make us think about our days in Montessori school, doing math with an abacus - the ancient adding machine with beads sliding across wires.

This cashmere yarn is incredibly soft and warm, so Mary Lou made this cowl in a looser knit, to get a little more length from this delicious yarn. It’s still warm, and now it’s perfect for our not-so-terrible North Carolina winters!

We’re so grateful to Mary Lou Egan for her beautiful contribution to our work supporting the Afghan women spinners who make this cashmere yarn!
