A scarf for bad hair days
Stylish Cover-Up For Hair Issues of Any Kind
A versatile head scarf which can be worn in different ways and could made for a woman suffering from hair loss. Whether her hair loss is due to chemotherapy or other medical reason, the scarf will be warmly received. The Seriously Gorgeous Swiss Cashmere and Silk yarn really lives up to its name by supplying luxury, comfort and style. The comfort will be needed in extra measure if the person you make this for is undergoing treatment for cancer as her scalp will be extra sensitive.
Size: Drop = 55cm/21 1/2 “
Width = 100cm/39”
The size given is suitable for wearing over the head - if a shawl is preferred then there is enough yarn in a skein to provide 7” extra length approximately.
The pattern asks for 50 x 10mm beads for the scarf and flower pin. NB Beads are optional: if used, put on alternate drops on the scarf, or on every drop - in which case extra beads will be required.
A safety pin is also needed to fasten the flower to the headscarf.
The pattern is a very simple stitch based on bands of stocking stitch and garter stitch with yarn overs to increase at the edges to make a triangular scarf, with added interest of beaded drops around the edge. There is no chart included in the instructions.
