A lacy leaf-pattern stole
A rectangular lacy leaf-pattern shawl in columns.
Materials:
Five ounces of Wendy Nylonette Botany 3-ply ; a pair of No. 5 (4.5 mm / US7) knitting nedles ; a medium size crochet hook.
Tension and measurement:
Worked as such a tension that one repeat of the pattern measures 4 3/4 inches in width using No. 5 needles, the stole, after light pressing will measure 20 1/2 inches wide and 50 inches long without fringe.
Abreviations - To be read before working:
K., Knit plain ; p., purl ; st., stitch ; tog., together ; k. 2 tog. b., k. 2 tog. through back loop of the sts., ; sl., slip ; p.s.s.o., pass the slip st. over ; m., make (by bringing the wool to the front of the needle so that it passes over it before knitting the next st. or sts. together) ; garter st. is k. plain on every row. Directions in brackets are worked the number of times stated after the last bracket.
