A Hat for Me!
This classically shaped hat starts with a 2x2 rib topped with several rounds of garter stitch. The body of the hat is a simple lace pattern that hints at a flower, working well with this lovely hand-dyed yarn.
Supplies
-1 hank Garage Dyeworks Auto DK (100% Superwash Merino; 100 grams/231 yards)
-Size 6 (4mm) - 16” (40cm) circular needles, or size necessary to achieve gauge
-Size 4 (3.5mm) - 16” (40cm) circular needles, or two sizes smaller than size necessary to achieve gauge
-Size 6 (4mm) double pointed needles, or size necessary to achieve gauge
-Darning needle
-Stitch marker
Gauge
5.5 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in circular stockinette stitch on size 6 (4mm) needles, before blocking
Finished Measurements
Approximately 20.5 (22, 23.5)” circumference and 8.25” tall, before blocking; with instructions for adjusting the height of the hat.
