A Good Scarf Is Hard To Find
Pattern Description
Allison’s son Sam is four years old and he is picky about clothes. From his hat to his shoes, things must match, be comfortable, and be soft. Winter was coming and Allison had recently purchased a new coat for Sam. She also had mittens and a hat that met with his approval, but she was having difficulty finding an acceptable scarf. Fed up with making purchases she had to return, she brought Sam into the store and let him choose the material, colors, and style for his scarf. He looked around for a few minutes, and then came to a quick decision. “I want this soft yarn, in these colors. I think you should stripe these colors and put fringe on the end in this one. And I want the lines that go up and down.” Allison agreed and made the scarf to his exact specifications. We liked it so much that we decided to use his pattern for our book.
