This design started with the idea of holding two yarns together throughout, but I wanted a stitch pattern that would take advantage of the halo effect that mohair gives. The openwork in this textured pattern creates little pockets that keep this sweater squishy and forms shadows with the dark mohair held together with the lighter-colored yarn. It’s named after the 8th Arrondissement in Paris which is all about luxury and one-of-a-kind fashion pieces. The luxurious fibers of mohair held together with merino/silk contrast in this pullover that takes on a short-sleeve-over long-sleeve tee look. It accompanies the article “Two Yarns Held Together” in the Winter 2024–2025 issue of Cast On.
