Large rat: (9.5cm long)

(Note: The name nezumi could be translated ‘rat’ or ‘mouse’, and I have to admit it looks like a cute mouse to me. But together with fuku ‘good luck’, it makes sense as a rat. That’s because in Japanese Buddhist tradition, a white rat is the messenger of Daikoku, one of the gods of good fortune. So I’ve chosen to translate it as ‘rat’ here. Either way, it’s a cute amigurumi rodent.)
