Surprisingly easy to knit, this light and elegant afghan features a seed-stitch border and fat, fluffy tassels, Worked with two strands of yarn and very large needles, the “Portable Throw” is deceptively simple to make. Imagine yarn is an acrylic/mohair blend. 12 skeins are used in equal amounts of two colors, in this pattern Ann used #099 ecru (A) and #186 maize (B). In the original version from 1994, Brunswick Quickmist was used. 12 skeins of one color and 13 skeins of the other color were required.

This pattern is rated easy for the beginner knitter.

The pattern suggests using a circular needle with a 24”/60cm cable. Also required are stitch markers and cable needle.

Tassels are optional and require an additional 2 skeins of each color (not included in yardage requirements listed here.)
