Four stockinette squares are sewn together to give the zebra ponchos their stripes. The hats are worked as you would a detached hood; separately knit ears are sewn on. The mitts are simple rectangles with side-seam thumb openings (sorry, dolly, no thumbholes for you). The faux-fur Boa yarn creates the loop-stitch mane and the garter-stitch trims.
