25 days of instructions, each with a small bit of knitting or assembly to do. You’ll end up with 1 complex ornament to hang on your tree or to gift to friends! Or you could end up with 2 present toppers. Or…well, there could be other options, but you’ll decide later in December!

This Advent Ornament KALendar is a little present for you. Pair it with a Pretty String Advent calendar set or your leftover sock yarn.

This year’s ornament is knit flat and sewn together in sections. Each day features up to a few beads (size 6/0 seed beads), but beads aren’t mandatory.

Skills used:
knitting
short rows in garter stitch (wrap & turn, no picking up wraps)
increasing
decreasing
some sewing to assemble

Yarn requirements:
Color suggestions: yellow, red, and green
Each day’s instructions will use a small amount of yarn.

A heavier weight yarn could be used, but the yardage requirements will change.

Additional supplies:
needle appropriate for assembly
size 6/0 seed beads (~ 100) (gold, clear, silver, or to match yarn)
small ring(s) for top of ornament(s) if desired

When working short rows, a tip that might ease your knitting and possibly speed this up: try purling back in the opposite direction without turning your work. This is a small amount of stitches to try this on, and it might help you keep your place in the pattern. It worked for me!
