This Afghan is made up with the squares available in the 2017 Crochet A Block Crochet Along.

Beautiful, granny themed squares ranging in difficulty from Easy to Challenging.

2017 Crochet A Block Afghan

Crochet a throw or afghan consisting of 30 granny stitch themed squares. Each square is different and is bordered with the granny stitch to bring them all together.

Difficulty Level | Skills Required - Easy to Intermediate
Basic stitches in simple variations, simple repeats, color changes, shaping and finishing.

You will need to know basic stitches like SC (single crochet) and DC (double crochet).

Special stitches explained and provided with each square.

Materials
Hook – 4, 00 mm (G)
Scissors
Yarn needle

Yarn:
Elle (Saprotex) Pullskein Double Knit - Acrylic
Weight – DK (11 wpi) 3: Light.
Approx 1400 grams / 4620 yards / 4200 meters (14 balls)

Colours:
• A - Aran x 4
• B – Duck Egg x 4
• C – Fog x 3
• D – Fuchsia x 3

Yarn Substitute:
Using the same type of yarn throughout the project is recommended. The pattern suggests Cotton DK yarn, but you are not limited to this type of yarn. Any yarn can be used if you take into consideration your sizing for the project will differ.

Tension | Gauge
Gauge is NOT necessary for this project to be perfect.
However COUNTING your stitches will ensure a true success of this project!

Square Size – 9 x 9 inches (23 x 23 cm)
Final Blanket Size including border -
Approx. Length = 57 inch / 145 cm Width = 47 inches / 120 cm

Remember – if you use/choose a different yarn weight/hook size your blanket will be a different size!
