Kate Davies Designs Àrd Thìr (60% Highland Wool; 40% Alpaca; 65m / 71yds per 50g ball)
Kintra: 3 x 50g balls

Needles and Notions
Gauge-size needle(s) of your preferred type for working small circumferences
Waste yarn (for holding thumb stitches)
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle

Gauge
22 sts and 30 rounds to 10 cm / 4in over reverse stockinette in the round. Use 3.5mm / U.S. 4 needle as a starting point for swatching.

Small (Large) to fit hand 16.5-19cm / 6½ -7½in (19-21.5cm / 7½-8½in) circumference
Mitten length: 25.5cm / 10in (28.5cm / 11¼in)

Pattern notes
These mittens are worked from bottom to top. The cuff is worked with purls and twisted stitches that flow into the body of the mittens. The body is worked with patterning on the back of the hand and increases on one side for the thumb gusset. After the thumb stitches are increased, they are set aside on waste yarn and the hand is completed. The thumb stitches are placed back onto needles and the thumbs completed at the end.
