Pattern description from Knitting America: “No longer dull and drab, stocking knit in argyle patterns grew even more popular with knitters during the 1950s. The pattern is for the gray argyle socks shown here. This pattern comes from the Bear Brand hand-knit Socks book, Vol. 340, 1950. Instructions are for Socks; changes for Anklets are in parentheses.”

Materials:

• Bear Brand Win-Spint (1 oz. skeins); or Bear Brand Ever-Match Sock and Fingering Yarn, (1 oz. skeins), Main Color A, 2 skeins; Colros B and C, 1 skein each; Colors 0 and E, about 20 yds. each.
• Bucilla Nylon “Heel ‘n Toe” yarn, 1 card. 1 set Yarn Bobbins.
• Knitting Needles: “Boye” Sock Needles, 1 set Size 1

Gauge: 9 sts = 1 inch / 13 rows or rounds = 1 inch

Note: “Chart and instructions call for cross lines to be knitted in. Cross lines may be embroidered in duplicate st after sock is completed, in which case diamonds are worked in solid color and cross lines are embroidered after sock is completed.”
