Pattern description from Knitting America: “This pattern comes from Needlecraft magazine, August 1924. Fancy patterns for ties knit with ‘artificial silk’ (rayon) appealed to knitters. Ties looked best - and resisted stretching - when knit flat, folded, and seamed up the center back. With no gauge given, knitters were advised to knit a small sample and then ‘rearrange’ the numbers of stitches required for the desired width. Needlecraft, August 1924.”
