This is the 1724 South Side Crochet Shawl, a sister to the 1824 South Side Knit Shawl. Both were designed for Miss Purl for the 2022 Chicago Yarn Crawl.

1724 is the address number where Kamaca, the owner of Miss Purl learned to crochet. It is named for that and the location of her new yarn shop on Chicago’s South Side.

The designer this shawl is to be shallow and it can also function as a scarf.

The Cestari and Distortion Fibers DK work well off each other giving this shawl a fabulous contrast in color and texture.
