10404 Woman's Cardigan
SUMMARY: This is a woman’s round-neck, cardigan/jacket with drop-shouldered, long sleeves. It is worked in the round and features multiple bands of pattern – one of smaller flowers and vertical stripes at the lower edge and cuffs, followed by a large flower band, then finished with bands of snowflakes and diamonds. Simple ‘X’ rows are used as separators. A smaller version of the flower and stripe pattern is used for the buttonbands and collar. The hemline, buttonbands and cuffs are all self-faced. The buttonbands and collar are picked-up from the body stitches and worked onwards in the finishing stages. The sweater is fastening with pewter clasps. All the flower motifs are finished with embroidery, using either chain or duplicate stitches.
The sweater uses six colours: one Main Colour (MC) and five Contrasting Colours (CC1 – CC5). Quantities are given for two colour versions – black, orange, red or natural, black, grey. The 1st colour version is pictured in the book.
