Paula Niskasaari
If you take a look at my Instagram feed, you will probably be able to easily name some of my favorite things when it comes to knitting: socks, bright colors, slipped stitches and a little bit of playfulness.
I want my designs and patterns to be fun and easy to pick up.
That does not necessarily mean that they are super quick or easy, but the WIP is always small enough to be carried around in your bag (so that you can knit a row or two while picking up your kid from school or a dance class) and the stitch patterns are typically easy to memorize (because your head is exploding with everything you must remember anyway). And what’s important to me, is that it is possible to finish the item within a reasonable amount time, even when you are busy helping with homework, looking for mittens that have gone missing and trying to tame the laundry chaos.
I know for sure there are a thousand and one things demanding your attention. And unfortunately knitting almost never is on top of your list. I want to create patterns that you can knit for a little while after the kids have fallen asleep and that you can easily pick up from where you left. (Not on the couch though! Never leave your knitting anywhere where a toddler can reach it!)
