The trails surrounding Lake Tahoe can be traced back to the Washoe Indians, the indigenous people of the Tahoe region.

…and today one can explore the Rubicon, Tahoe Rim, and Pacific Crest Trails, just three of the numerous hiking trails that can be found around Lake Tahoe. Thanks to the Washoe Indians, Fremont and Carson, Johnson and all the other miners, loggers, travellers and pioneers that came before and after them, modern day hikers can share in the magical views, breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife that surround the region.
