By popular demand, this simplified version of the OneHandKnits’ Zöe (If It Moves, Shoot It) Shawl is brought to you in conjunction with The Knitting Goddess’ hand-dyed yarns. The original construction is retained producing a long, shallow shawl of decreasing triangles, worked from the middle out. Knit back and forth in one piece, the additional ‘triangles’ are worked as ‘pick-up’ short-rows to extend the span without adding depth. The main body consists of simple stocking stitch and eyelet bands and the entire shawl is completed with a picot fringe. With a less intricate base pattern to follow (and no charts) you can concentrate on the short-row method, working for longer periods without reference to the pattern. The simplified texture is also more readily suited to variegated yarn, producing varied thickness stripes of colour that ‘bloom’ from the centre of each triangle. Using The Knitting Goddesses unique Same Difference yarn, alternating mirror-image dyed skeins between triangles, creates a truly stunning and original shawl everytime.
Instructions are written in full. This pattern is rated as moderate due to its unusual construction.
