Yellow Brick Road Socks
I have a Yellow Brick Road Socks Showcase Video on my YouTube channel, which gives more details about this pattern.
This sock pattern was written for double pointed needles and has instructions for three sizes:
- Small (56 sts)
- Medium (64 sts)
- Large (72 sts) sizes
This is a cuff down sock pattern, worked in one piece, from the cuff down to the toe. Casting on requires using a stretchy cast-on method. The cuff of the socks is knitted first, before moving onto the leg, the heel, the gusset, then the foot and finally finishing on the toe. Kitchener stitch is used to close the stitches at the toe.
Instructions for the cuff, leg, gusset and instep of these socks are provided in both written and charted format. However, instructions for the heel and toe are written only.
The brickwork pattern on these socks was inspired by the name of the yarn colour - Yellow Brick Road. I have always enjoyed watching the Wizard of Oz so when I saw this yarn colour for sale by Felt Fusion, I just could not resist. This yarn has been lying in my stash for some time patiently waiting to be knitted into a brickwork patterned pair of socks.
I also knit a 2nd pair of these socks using the Yellow Brick Road
colourway by Kernow Designs which was such a delightful yarn to knit with. You will see images of both socks shown throughout
this pattern.
If you have any questions, problems or just want to join in with others who are knitting these socks, pop over to my Shuttermonkey Designs Group here on Ravelry.
