Slow living is defined as “a lifestyle that encourages a slower approach to aspects of everyday life, involving completing tasks at a leisurely pace.” Though social media would have us believe there is only one such way this lifestyle presents itself (plants, beige/light furnishings, etc) that is inaccurate. This is about a life well lived with intention and gratitude.

This is what my design work has become for me. Knitting traditional styles that can be handed down as heirlooms in natural materials (and using up as much of the yarn as possible and thus leaving no waste) is at the forefront of my mind. It is actually why I wanted to knit in the first place so as I thought of slowing down and thinking things through i remembered my goal of creating not trends but crisp classic designs that can be handed down generation after generation. This is how Wolfsbane was born.

I choose beautiful natural yarn and my favorite shape and stitch pattern to create a beautiful timeless staple that can be handed down for many generations to come. With the 50g balls and 4.5mm needle, the project does tend to knit itself but calm the nerves with meditative knits, purls, increases, and a picot bind-off. Please create a project page here and tag me on Instagram @clevereststitch so i can follow along.
