What first started as an impromptu cast on quickly became of my all time favourite knits! Who would have thought? First of all, I’m head over heels for this yarn. I’m both in love with the colors and the fabric/texture of the yarn itself. It is called Techno by Blue Sky Fibers and it’s a (holly) blend of alpaca, silk and merino.

The colors are absolutely divine too! From someone that is not drawn to browns at all, this color palette has converted me to a brown addict! I want a little bit of brown everywhere now! It just goes so well with everything (and especially my second-hand fisherman cardigan!).

The pattern is REALLY easy. There’s nothing complicated at all: just a little bit of texture and colorwork. Knitted in a chunky weight, it only took me two evenings to complete (because I messed up the decreases the first time round haha). It’s the perfect last minute gift. Did I say that the pattern is also available in a wee little version too?

To knit this little pattern, you will need one skein of Techno in Rogue (MC) and one skein of Fringe (CC) (you might need an extra skein for the pompom if you are making the woman’s size).

Yarn
For size 1 (child) and size 2 (adult without pompom)

2 skeins of Blue Sky Fibers, Techno, 68% Alpaca, 22% Silk, 10% Merino, 120 yards (110 meters)/50g in Rogue (Color A) and in Fringe (Color B) OR about 2x 120 yards (110 meters) of chunky weight yarn.

For size 2 (adult with pompom)
You might need an extra skein of Color B if
you want to make a pompom.
